Welcome to the Lutheran Community Care Centre

The Lutheran Community Care Centre is a Social Service organization of the Lutheran churches in the Thunder Bay Area. Established in 1979, the Care Centre provides an array of services that are dynamic - changing as the needs of the community change. A common theme among all our services is a holistic approach and a focus on advocacy especially for disadvantaged individuals.

Many of our services are provided through government contracts while others rely on donations and non-government resources to operate. Currently the groups of people we focus on are adults with a developmental disability, older adults in both community and facility settings, people who spend a lot of their time on the street, and families and individuals with counselling needs.

The Lutheran Community Care Centre provides flexible and responsive social and spiritual services to people in Thunder Bay and region regardless of religious belief.

The Lutheran Community Care Centre believes:

3. Individuals are entitled to receive services that are holistic, empowering and choice-enhancing.
4. The services provided must be flexible, creative and responsive to individual and community needs.
5. We are accountable for the wise use of all entrusted resources.
6. Cooperative and collaborative approaches to service delivery are preferable.
7. Preventative services and approaches are a good investment of resources.

With compassion, the physical, spiritual, emotional, social and economic needs of individuals and families in northwestern Ontario are met, enabling them to develop to their full potential.
