Adult Protective Service Worker Program

The Adult Protective Service Worker program supports adults with a developmental disability that are living on their own to live as independently, safely and securely as possible in the community. The program is available to adults with a developmental disability living in Thunder Bay and along the North Shore.

The support you can expect from the Adult Protective Services Program includes the following:

  • Case Management: Coordinate supports to meet the individual’s needs to reach their optimum level of independence, while focusing on community inclusion.
  • Advocacy: Ensure the individual is informed of their rights and is treated with fairness, dignity and respect.
  • Community Capacity Building: Assist the individual in utilizing their natural supports to enhance their lives, increase community awareness of developmental disabilities and strive to create a range of opportunities in the community by developing partnerships.
